Why Does God Take So Long To Answer?

God has intervened time and again in my otherwise seemingly impossible circumstances. But why does He take so long to do it?
It was during my many moments of testing I questioned God’s plan in fulfilling His work in me. Testing added to my life much frustration while questioning God’s purpose in these lengthy, drawn-out disappointments. God seemed to take much more time than necessary to deliver my help.
I would say, “I know you have a lot of people to take care of, but couldn’t You pay a little more attention to my needs.” The funny thing is, He never seemed to mind my ranting about things I thought He should act on more quickly.
As I became more desperate in this slow process, the Holy Spirit would answer my prayer on behalf of someone else or give me an answer to some small thing I was trying to solve on my own. What have I learned? He has answered my deepest needs in His own time, and while He was at it, He was building my character and strengthening my faith.
Each day I spend time saying thank you as I recount some answer to prayer or one of God’s provisions.
Now I realize He had a reason for delaying what I deemed most important. However, I still question His response time.
