Time To Refocus

God is calling each one of us to dedication and consecration to Jesus as our Lord and Christ.  We are to wait on Him with a diligence that opens our hearts to hear Him speak. In seeking Him we will more fully understand where He is taking us and what He is going to do through us.  We can do nothing of real importance apart from Him!

We are pressed by the tyranny of the urgent, leaving little time for reflection and fellowship. We pass in and out of each other’s lives as crises escalate and problems surface, making the task of repairing the breech in relationships a more pressing demand than growing together in a bond of community and love.

Conflicts are with us to stay, and therefore conflict resolution is a mainstay of the Christian life, but there must be more to living day to day in a spirit of godliness and togetherness that enables us to glorify God and experience the joy of His fellowship with one another.

Paul the apostle was aware of the competing pressures that divide the body of Christ into isolationism. In Hebrews 10:24-25 NLT, he states;

“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.  And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

God is calling us into relationships of commitment and love. When we meet together in our homes we have the opportunity to get to know each other, and it is here where we can encourage each other to press on in the Lord. It is here where our prayers can work to lift the tyranny that is hard to bear up under alone.

Let us take seriously the urging of God’s Spirit, allowing Him to guide us into the purpose and peace of God.
