The Indestructible Word

“It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow.”1 Corinthians 3:7 NLT

Many of the religious leaders hated the message the apostles were openly preaching after Jesus’s death. Today the message of Jesus is also under assault and there are many who stand in opposition. 

What makes people so violently hostile to the truth of the living Jesus? SIN! Sin that does not want to be challenged or denied is at the heart of our debased culture. Opening one’s heart and mind to consider the truth of Jesus means we must face our own depravity and wickedness. 

The devil and his emissaries hate true Christianity. He may dispatch people to kill the messenger, but it is impossible to destroy the message. The WORD of GOD is likened to a kernel of seed. All the properties of life are contained in this dried up dead looking seed. All that is needed is to bury this seed in the earth, and watch it germinate and spring to life. 

Those who follow Jesus are privileged to spread this seed into the soil of human hearts, and the Spirit will germinate it and give the increase.
