I Broke the Law

God’s standard of righteousness cannot be achieved by adhering to the law. No amount of effort or self-perfection can satisfy the full requirements set forth in the law.
“Then why was the law put in place?” I ask myself.
Galatians 3:19,24 NLT
'Why, then, was the law given? It was given alongside the promise to show people their sins. But the law was designed to last only until the coming of the child who was promised. God gave his law through angels to Moses, who was the mediator between God and the people. [24] Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with God through faith.'
So the Law confirms that we all break the law and sin, and that our greatest need is God’s forgiveness.
But I am trying hard to correct the things that keep tripping me up. I have seen incredible improvement in myself. Doesn’t that count for something?
“For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20 ESV
Those who view religion above relationship are often seeking to satisfy the requirements of the law, rather than simply receiving God’s free gift of unmerited grace.
Romans 3:23-24 ESV
'for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, [24] and are justified by his grace as a gift...'
Thanks be to God whose unconditional love set forth a plan of redemption to reconcile me, a great sinner, back to His family through His Son Jesus.
