We Have A Reason to Praise

"But you are a chosen generation, a· royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light," 1 Peter 2:9
Who feels like giving God praise when they are being sorely pressed on every side? We feel most like praising when things are going great, but then life is not measured unto us without difficulty. And we know that we have an adversary who is out to wreak havoc in our lives.
Additionally, we battle our own fleshly temptations that blur our vision.
Praise places the focus on God and not our circumstances, and it is when we get our eyes on God that our circumstances are opened to His power. You should expect to see God move on your behalf when He is the object of your thankfulness. These are not new ideas; they are merely old ideas that work.
We are creatures of habit, many of which have been so well formed within us that it is hard to believe in such things as praise and prayer as tools for deliverance, but we have a reason to praise.
You are a royal priesthood, a holy nation and His own special people. Get your eyes back on God and rehearse the promises that He has made concerning you. Praise Him for making you His own special people.
