Real Faith Requires Courage

It’s not easy to stay faithful to God. It requires humility, sacrifice, and trusting your future to God, who chooses to withdraw from us, so our faith is touching the invisible. We desire what we can see, trust in what resources we can control, and all along, God is pressing us to trust in what we cannot see. That is called faith. 

When I stepped aside from ministry after nearly 40 years, my most significant concern was, will those who come after me be faithful. Will they have the courage to trust God instead of relying on their own ability and resources. Will they be faithful men and women of God or mere replicas of a failed human culture. 

I sought friendship with God above money, success, and the approval of man, and I have not been disappointed. I talk with God daily, and my heart is stirred to sing new songs of praise to Him as I journey through my day. 

I know at the end of my days, I will be able to say with Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
