Together For The Gospel

"For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones." Ephesians 5:30

What do you want in a church? Have you ever sat down and considered what things are really important to you in the church that you call home? The reason that I believe this is an important exercise for all of us is that we have diversity of ethnicity; we are multi-generational with a wide range of gifted-ness and personalities. Diversity can be a challenge, but in Christ, we glorify God by seeking to be a church that in humility seeks unity amid such diversity.

After considering what you would like, open your Bibles and look up those passages that pertain to the church and church life, and see how close you are to wanting what God wants. The Holy Spirit will draw Christians into the fellowship of the Church and gift them for service to edify the body so that we might grow in unity and maturity.

We are in danger, as Christians, in becoming self-centered rather than God centered. The following quote represents an ongoing challenge among Christians. “We live for ourselves, proclaiming an easy gospel, making people like us, while seeking a church that will entertain us and provide entitlements.”

Give consideration to the following. “We live to glorify God by proclaiming Christ, making disciples, and growing in His grace as a community centered on to Gospel.” We must continue to pray and ask God what part He would have us play in using our gifted-ness and resources to glorify Him.
