A Vivid Imagination

Imagination: the faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses:
Imagination is a constant companion in our daily journey. It starts at a very young age when you are playing or daydreaming. The young boy is acting out in his imagination some heroics; the young girl dreams of adventure or the day she will be a bride. In your thoughts, haven’t you rescued someone in danger, or been the hero in your story.
My point is imagination is alive in all of us. Why not empower your imagination to include Jesus in the activities of your day. Here is an example of the advice I have given to many. An engineer in our church told me he was challenged beyond his mental resources to find the solution to a project wherein he was responsible. I said, "as your working, invite God into the equation. Ask Him to give you His mind, His wisdom. In other words, practice His presence. He was quite surprised that the solution came so quickly."
Take this to a whole new level and visualize Him assisting you with challenges, aspirations, and adventures. Isn’t this a part of faith? Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Believing in something we cannot see ignites the imagination with hope for what is invisible.
I have been enjoying God up close for many years, after all, Jesus calls us friends. I invite you to join me in practicing His presence in everyday work and play.
