Try Thankfulness Throughout All

Awakening early in the morning, I am conscious of my breathing. I am breathing because God has breathed life into me. I am filled with gratitude as I take my first breath, and as I exhale, I am reminded of the goodness of God.
Psalm 197:8, “Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!” No less than 4 times in this chapter, this verse is repeated.
God is shouting to us, “Remember My goodness towards you.” No matter my many challenges, and my physical pains, I am overwhelmed by the goodness of God. I was totally and irretrievably lost, and God pursued and found me. I was blind, and He gave me sight to see Him up close.
Suppose my prayers for deliverance have not been answered to my choosing. In that case, I am grateful that God’s plan for me is perfect, and in my frailty, He purposes my best. His Grace has proven sufficient.
I am conscious of being a sinner, saved by this very grace. I have been set free from the bondage of having things my way. All my life, He has proven faithful. Upon rising, my heart is filled with gratitude, and as I retire for the night, my thoughts are lifted up with thanksgiving.
