When In Lion Country

“Be Sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5: 8
You must not run nor ignore the fact that you are in dangerous territory. If you see a lion, you must appear larger than life and make as much noise as you can. Do not retreat and turn your back on a lion, because they like to chase their prey and they are formidable.
The greatest mistake that you will make regarding your adversary the devil, who goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, is to minimize his threat or to relegate the devil to some myth or mere story. You can ignore the schemes of your adversary, but he will not ignore you.
The scriptures also tell us to humble ourselves in the sight of God and resist the devil and he will flee from us. Resist means to actively oppose him. This means you are depending on God’s strength and not your own. When you walk in humility you will appear larger than life, for the devil will not merely see you, but Christ who is in you.
Resisting the devil means you will become familiar with the Word of God and use the Word to resist the devil’s temptations. You are a child of God, and you were purchased with the blood of Christ. The blood of Christ spells defeat for your adversary and victory to those who are in Christ Jesus.
Pastor Mike

It is a serious step when you venture into lion country.
