Don't Complicate Things

I try not to overthink things, which can easily displace my focus on God’s continued provision and love for me. There is a simplicity in Christ that invites me into real friendship, where He plays the role of the most faithful Friend.

2 Corinthians 11:3 NKJV

“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

I fail and come up short time and again, but He urges me on. “Walk with Me today,” He says, “and I will refresh your soul.” His friendship is a constant invitation to draw near and not shy away because of my failings and lack of faithfulness.

Yes, He is the God of the whole earth. He is the Savior of lost humanity, but He is also my Friend. He invited me into this friendship, and I must avail myself of the incredible privileges and joys of accepting this invitation.

I must not allow my mind to be corrupted from the simplicity and pure devotion that is in Jesus.
